Cardiac Vector Geek
Welcome to my Blog
I am all about education. Therefore, it is my goal to provide the information needed to become a more proficient EKG interpreter to better care for your patients. Cardiac Vectors (Axis) is just another (underused) tool that you can use to get a better understanding of a patients over-all condition, history, and potential outcome. I'm not an expert in this field by any means, and do not pretend to be. On the contrary, THE MORE I LEARN, THE MORE I KNOW I DON"T KNOW S#*T. I do, however, have a good understanding of cardiac vectors in relation to thier lead vectors which helps me understand the direction of impulses traveling though the ventricles. This helps me be a better clinician in treating my patients. Yes, I said clinician. As a paramedic, we must start to think of ourselves as clinicians and not just protocol monkey's. We have to continuously improve our knowledge, enhance our patient assessment skills, EKG interpretation ability, and provide the best patient care available based on the information we've gathered. We do this on our own, without direct supervision. We do have the ability to call our medical director, and should if you are not 100% sure of your differential diagnosis and/or treatment.
